Juniors classic in Albury!

Five of our NT Juniors competed in the 2015 Albury Junior Classic in early April.  An outstanding effort by the kids pushing NZ  to a draw in the finals, unfortunately the golden point went to NZ with the final score being 13 (NT) – 14 (NZ).

The team; Shannon angel, Jessica Rodgers, Tayla Larsson, Amelia Petherick (Howard Springs), Lochie Burgdorf (Palmerston) were joined by NSW youngsters Fletcher Harris, Tye Stewart & Billy Stephens to round out the two chukkas.

Toni Linden (NT) fulfilled the role of Team Manager for the 3rd consecutive year and the kids had some new coaching influences from Kenny Grimins (Vic)

Special Comments Greg Day –

After disposing of highly fancied teams from the eastern states, the Northern Territory Juniors met New Zealand in the final of their division.

The final was a great and hard-fought match in which our juniors played magnificently, and at full-time the score was level at 13-13. In the golden point chukka, which is a feature of all drawn polocrosse games, New Zealand was lucky enough to get the ball through the goalposts first, leaving our juniors as runners-up for their division of the carnival.

We would like them to know how proud we are of them and how well they played for the Northern Territory in this carnival.
